It’s a Hard Life Being a Chinchilla

Posted in Animals, Chinchillas, General, Pets  by Claire on September 16th, 2007

It’s not easy being a chinchilla. Life can be tough ………….. there’s all that important snoozing for a start.

Comfort is important – just cross your legs at the right angle…….

Then there’s the hammock dilemma……….. just how does one get comfy?

Sometimes its nice to sleep in your dustbath

And finally ………. what happens when your favourite hammock is either taken away for washing or you just can’t be bothered to hop up to it?

This pillow’s a bit hard!

Hammock? Nah, too much effort – teddy will do!

So how much of a hard life do your chins endure? ;)

Wow, your chins look VERY relaxed!
Of my three boys, only one of them ever sleeps on his side, and then usually only when it’s hot. They like to perch on their top shelf, curled into a ball and looking out over the world like little furry gargoyles. I’m sure they never quite close their eyes when sleeping, just in case there’s something exciting going on that they might miss! They NEVER sleep in the pretty hammock I bought them, it ended up being used as an extra hay feeder. Contrary little beasts!
